Scope is a Nikko Sterling 4-16X44 Platinum Nighteater. I've been told that it is a decent scope. I guess we'll have to see. It was named optic of the year by shooting illustrated in '07.

Rifle cost $660 out the door.

    .308 win
    20" free floated heavy barrel
od green hogue stock...soon to be bell and carlson medalist varmint/tactical stock.

Took her to the range today. I was shooting the cheapest stuff I could find. Federal American Eagle 150 FMJ. This is the best I was able to do at 100 yds. Best group at .80" spread. This is my first bolt gun and first .308. Still gettin used to the recoil. Married Ammo to come.

    Update..Married ammunition results.

Handloaded some rounds with the bullet sitting .003" off the lands which gave me a total length of 2.253" from case head to ogive. I was testing a few rounds using Varget which yielded all 3 shot groups between 1/2" to [email protected] 100yds. After letting the barrel cool, I put three rounds down range and was able to pull this off. Group measurement was .426" from bullet hole center to center. These rounds were full sized, next loads will be neck sized only.

    Load:
    .308 Winchester
    150 Gr. Hornady FMJ
Cartridge length: 2.253" to the ogive
Charged with 44.5 gr. of Varget.
    CCI Large Rifle Primer.
    3 Rounds at 100yds.
