Picked one up. Like I said, its a .22 new model single six, blue, with simulated ivory grips, 5.5" barrel. 200$ new. How'd I do?

You did pretty good. I've not seen these locally for anything less than $289.

Let us know how it shoots. My anniversary model hits 2.5" low at 50'

Good shootin'

Is it 'new' as in new-in-the-box?

Complete with the spare .22 Win. Mag cylinder? If so, you did very well.:D Even if it's pre-owned, but never shot, you still did great. I picked up a used one for that price and thought I did OK for myself.

That's a good price, I have a Super Single Six Convertible that I've had for about 15 years. I think I paid about $180 for it then.

It is certainly factory polymer ivory. It has the Ruger emblem on it. I'm thinking about going to get its brother in .32 h&r magnum. No extra cylinder, though.

For many moons now

ALL Single-Sixes have come with a spare WMR cylinder. If the gun was sold to you by a dealer, as NEW, then I'd be raising a stink...

VictorLouis,

I checked, not all new single sixes come with 2 cylinders. I spoke to Ruger on this and found it in the manual. I'll take a picture for you guys on monday.

You're right. Is your gun NOS?

Current models are so equipped, at least per their site linked above. However, there's been some that were produced LR-only. I flirted with a Bisley-framed example that I didn't like as much as I thought. Sold it for a wee profit.;)

This might throw a bit more of a wrinkle in things. Its a color cased blue Vaquero .22. Catalog number BNV-225-SI. BNV is the precurser to the color cased blue Vaqueros. Middle set means .22, 5.5". I know the "I" in "SI" means ivory. Don't know what the S means yet. And even though it was NIB, he got it in his inventory in February of 2002.

Very Good.

The .22lr revolver has to be my fav. handgun of all. $200 for a Ruger Single Six? You did Very Good.;)

I have purchased two Single Sixes in the last couple months. One was a stainless 4 5/8" and the other was a much longer barreled (6-7" I don't know exactly) blued Bisley model. The regular Single Six came with two cylinders, the Bisley came with one.

I am sure you will really enjoy your purchase. I have put a lot of rounds downrange with a Single Six. Since the ammo is so cheap, you get a lot of practice for you money. I bought both those revolvers I mentioned above at the same time. Within a week I had put over 700 rounds through them combined. Really a lot of fun.

You did well I'd say .. I bought this S/S single six new some while back .. it's 6 1/2 barrel ........ paid a tad too much i think but .... it was one of those ''must have'' moments ..... :p Very nice to use with the .22 Mag cylinder.
