As some of you know, my girlfriend has a Heckler & Koch P2000 9mm with the LEM trigger, and after shooting it, I fell in love that pistol. As such, I've been looking for one for me (I was hoping to find a .40) and two nights ago, found a local seller with an P2000 9mm for $600.

Met him yesterday and bought it. AC date code, with fresh Meprolight night sights, LEM trigger (unmodified - replaced the trigger reset spring yesterday for $6), three magazines, 100 rounds of Speer Gold Dot 124 grain +p and 100 rounds of Fiocchi 115 grain FMJ ammo, and a Blade Tech belt holster - for $600! Pistol has less than 500 rounds through it and the finish is impeccable; no holster wear or dings whatsoever.

The P2000 is one of those pistols that brought back my 'wow' factor after shooting it for the first time and punching out the center of a target at 7 yards. Love the lightened LEM trigger, the short reset, the ergonomics, and Heckler & Koch's reputation for quality and reliability. I think it makes it worth every penny I paid, and then some. NIB around here is $759 + tax; I think I did pretty well today if I don't say so myself.

Range trip and full on bath due later today. :)

Question for those in the know. My pistol was made in 2002 and I'm wondering if there have been any major changes or improvements/upgrades recently to this pistol? Should I eventually look for a recently manufactured P2000 or have they remained the same over the years?

And I've read back and forth info as to whether the P2000 can handle +p+ ammo. Still can't find a definitive answer. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, and what's not to love? 13 rounds at 7 yards. Daddy like!

As for a quick range report: Shot at an indoor range with most of it at 7 yards, using a modified Weaver stance. Shot 100 rounds of Fiocchi and 50 rounds of Gold Dot with nary a failure or a sneeze. It digested everything without an issue and spit brass like they were sunflower seeds. I couldn't be more pleased with this pistol.

The lightened LEM is just flat out sweet to me. Reset was smooth and fast, and I have really adapted well to this trigger. Granted, it's no 1911 trigger, but it really has impressed me. My carry ammo is currently Federal HST 124 grain +p, but I have a few boxes of Winchester Ranger 124 grain +p+ I'd like to carry if the pistol can withstand the rigors of it, which I'm pretty sure it can. I LOVE this pistol!

I'd say you did very well - that's a great deal considering the package with the ammo. I know this is rare, but I think it's worth mentioning the only squib factory round I've ever had in my life was a 9mm Fiocchi, 115 grain I believe.

As for the P2k, mine's an AA date code V3, I have a friend that has an AE LEM. Aside from the trigger, it's the same pistol as far as I can tell.
