How'd I Do!! Sig 229

So I just stopped by my local shop and discovered that they had just taken in a Sig 229 on consignment a few hours before I got there. It was in great shape and extremely clean, it looked like it had been used very little by the previous owner.

It came with the following items.....
.40 barrel
.357 Sig barrel
Three mags
Tritium night sights
Fobus paddle holster

The asking price was $499+tax so I decided to put some money down on it and next week when I get paid go pick it up.

Was I right to put money down on this? I thought the price seemed very good considering its condition and the fact it came with two barrels. I've been wanting a new Sig for some time now and I've always wanted a 229 in particular.

I'll post some pics next week when I bring the gun home.

That'd be a smokin' hot deal in my neck of the woods, and I'd be eating rice and beans for the next month if that's what it took to free up five bills for an immediate score ... Tough to find a well-used 229 without night sights -- not to mention the extra barrel and extra mag -- around here for less than 5 and a quarter, 550 ...

Yep, both mine (one not pictured) are DA/SA and my used one that I bought feels like it could have 3000 rounds, vs the one in the pic that has 2000 rounds, as the DA pulls are almost identical, along with the SA pulls.. But the used one's pulls are nicer, just more broke in, and both have gone 100% without any failures of any kind..

If all you got was the gun with 1 mag and the night sights, that would have been a good deal.
The extra barrel is worth $125. plus the extra mag and the holster is worth another $75.00.

I'm not all too impressed with .40, but please let me know how .357 Sig shoots out of that little guy. I've heard its a little heck raiser at an indoor range.
