Thought I'd post an update to this.......Like many my M7 in .260 Rem was mediocre at best, minute of deer on a good day. My boy's killed a couple with it, but I couldn't get it under 1.5-2 MOA consistently. It's got a very nice Leupold VX3 2.5x8 on it and overall makes a great little package for stands and carrying.
Broke down and bought an HS Precision stock and it arrived a couple weeks ago. Took it out back with my "best" 120 Nosler load, which with the old stock was a little over 1.5 MOA. Here's the result at 100ys:

Conditions were pretty good, 62 degrees, 3-5 variable Shots 1+2 showed promise...then shot 3 lead me to the "here we go again" thoughts. Right up until shots 4+5 were touching it for .424"!!
I think that shots 1&2 (clean bore) settled it into the stock.
So I figured it's a fluke. Adjusted the sights and shot 6-8, by now the wind was up a bit, but 3 into .757". By now I had 2 rds left, so I moved to a piece of steel at 220 yards and aimed midway between the bull & edge due to wind:

So now it's "minute of small deer". The chrono stats were pretty impressive; 2924 MV, ES 18, SD 6.18 As it sits now:

Might have to find my son a new rifle.....
Sounds like you had good luck, nice setup!A few weeks ago I put one on my son's MOD 7:
Bought it from Stocky's so no real wait other than delivery time. Zero issues, very impressed by the accuracy increase. I've got an older 700 synthetic in .300WIN that I'malso thinking of putting in an HS stock.
Honestly the improvement in accuracy is amazing. I was at my wits end with the factory plastic stock.
If there was any noticeable difference in accuracy there was something wrong with the factory stock or the way it was installed. I've been putting after market stocks on many rifles since I replaced the walnut stock on a rifle with a Brown Precision stock in 1983. I've never once noted any improvement in accuracy.
Even though I read the previous post prior to purchase, I forgot all about it and after I mounted the action, I couldn't figure out why I couldn't close the bolt (glad I didn't force it)--had to use the stock screw. You'd think H-S Precision would have figured that out. Also, the front swivel stud is slightly off square when tightened all the way. Tension on the sling always caused it to come loose (kind of annoying). So why am I rating it 5 stars then? The accuracy I gained is phenomenal! Last year I left the range pretty disappointed (I wouldn't call what I was getting "groups" at all). My friends suggested I bed the stock but I didn't want to take the chance of messing up my beautiful walnut stock or worse, letting them mess it up. This year I mounted the H-S Precision and almost all shots were touching at 100 yds--
I have a Quik Klip conversion kit for my Remington 700 LA. This stock truly was a drop in stock with a free float barrel. It significantly reduced my grouping even with $20 a box ammo. I'm glad I bought this stock. Midway's service/delivery was surprisingly faster then I expected. Thanks Midway
Huge improvement over the plastic stock that came with the rifle from the factory. I used this stock to convert my .308 Rem 700 ADL SPSV to a BDL. After installing the stock and torquing the screws, my groups shrunk substantially. With my hand-loaded ammo, I shot a three round group at 200 yards that could be covered by a quarter. Nothing but positive things to say about this stock!
ith the H&S Precision stock, my groups went way down in size! I no longer have that occasional wild flyer that could never be explained away. And differences in loads became very apparent. I am at a lost for words in the praise I have for this stock.
