Hunt report - roe buck.

Good morning all, just back from a morning's stalking. Harvested a nice roe buck with an 80 yard atlas shot from sticks. The puppy was with us and was quite happy with the shot. Deer clearly DRT...the rifle is in the picture so you can get a grip of the scale.

I was not too sure but mmm a closer look and I see the eyeball is popping a bit as well so yip think you nailed it.

Do you think said Roe Deer had time to pucker before 170gr. of lead passed through the brain .

Not sure he had time to pucker up but he certainly had time to open his eyes nice and wide....
Overkill..... Better than underkill!

are the roe deer as tasty as our american white tail deer?

if so i imagine you are partkeing of sum fine backstrap rite now.

Hi ridge runner, the roe and whitetail are very similar and apparently share a common ancestor. Tasty? Hell yes, they are superb. Tender and lean.

Roe deer meat tastes better than whitetail, it's juicier, more like rabbit..
