Hunters Supply Cast Bullets

I recently purchased 1000- 125 gr. 9mm Cast FP bullets and checking Hunters Supply recommendation to go with an OAL of 1.155". I was not able to properly fit my case gauge and chamber until an OAL of 1.005". Needless to say I am concerned with an over pressure load from my normal powder charge of 4.3 gr. Titegroup. I show some Laser-cast loads 4.0 gr.AA#2 at 1.070 OAL. I'm thinking of starting very light at 3.2 gr. Titegroup which I have used in a 9mm 125 gr. LRN @ 1.110 OAL and got a mild 900 fps avg. velocity for practice which these will be as well.
Thoughts and recommendations appreciated.

You're smart to see the possible problems with seating deeper. It sounds like your planned charge reduction is the safe way to proceed. I'm curious what the problem was in getting the rounds to fit your chamber and/or case gauge. That 0.15 difference is pretty substantial.

HS Cast Bullets

I was hoping for more responses and a response from HS but no go. I felt comfortable with the loads at the reduced powder charge so test fired 31 cartridges with good accuracy and no over pressure signs in either the Sig228 or the Colt Pocket Nine.
I am wondering if possibly the listed OAL of 1.155 wasn't meant for a .357 Sig. Hopefully HS will respond with some good advise but until then I will shoot them as a reduced load. Old Tex, I tried many lengths OAL. the recommended OAL of 1.155 only half covered the lube ring, 1.100 had roughly 3/8" sticking out of case gauge, 1.050 stuck out about 1/8", 1.025 only had the thickness of the rim above the case gauge.

After reviewing the HS 9mm125gr FP description on the HSCB site I'm sure the listed 1.155 OAL is for the .357 Sig. The recommended OAL for the 9mm loading has been left out in error.

I can't answer for the 9mm bullets in question, but the .357 LSWC bullets I have purchased from Hunters Supply have been dead on in size. I'd never used this brand before, bought locally at GS's, I must admit, skeptical at first, but after buying and shooting the first batch, I re-ordered another 500 and have been very satisfied. Mine have shot very, very accurate out of my Smith #15 revolver. Hope this helps and you get the problem fixed.

HSCB

Please do not think I am bad mouthing HSCB. The quality of the product and dimensional integrity in all I have measured appears excellent.
My first response from HSCB and my reply:

I am loading these in 9mm Luger cases for practice use in Sig 228, Browning HP, and Colt Pocket Nine pistols. I am wondering if possibly the listed OAL of 1.155 wasn't meant for a .357 Sig. I would rather fire these for both practice and competition at full charges and hopefully you will respond with some good advise but until then I will shoot them as a reduced load at 1.005 OAL with a reduced 3.2 gr reduced powder charge for practice only. I tried many lengths OAL and am using a Dillon case gauge. The shape of the bullet nose has no bearing on whether or not the case seats properly in the gauge. Your recommended OAL of 1.155 only half covers the lube ring, 1.100 had roughly 3/8" of the case head sticking out of case gauge, 1.050 stuck out about 1/8", 1.025 only had the thickness of the rim above the case gauge but still will not fit my chambers. Most check gages are made for round nose bullets.
Please check again with a dial caliper.
I checked the OAL for the 9 125 FP it is showing the same.
