A model 7 for $250! Buy it! If she does not like it I will take it off your hands. The .260 rem is a very light kicking round, and its performance is well suited to any deer hunting. It was made to be the ballistic twin to the modern 6.5x55 (my fav) in a short action. Recoil is very light by most peoples standards, slightly more then a 243 but much less then a 270 or 308. If this seller has a model 7 in 7mm-08 let me know I won't even have to think about jumping on one of those for that kind of money.

Price is definitely right, lot of model sevens were sold as 'youth' rifles.. they tend to be light weight and can have some kick. Be sure to get a slip on recoil pad AND a PAST recoild shield for shooting off the bench. She'll warm to shooting it more than a few times.

I had one of the early ones(mid 1980s)in 7mm/08. It was an awesome shooter. I took several deer with it. I paid $350 for it back in the 1990s. Don't remember what I traded it for but I regret ever letting it go!

Probably gone to buy the rifle before some of us buy it out from under him!
My PC Died....

Thank you all fo the feed back.
I'm going to buy the rifle on Saturday.
I will try to post a pick of it.

Now does anyone have load data for a 260 using the Hornady GMX or a Suggestion on a factory load?

Buy the 260. And if you reload, 243,7mm08 and308 brass can easily be resized to 260 .A great round with mild recoil, and an excellent bc that gets great penetration. There is a large selection of .264 bullets to, from 85grn hp to 260grn sp. Everything from varmints to moose is fair game for the 260.
