WARNING

Your rifle could malfunction and be an antique piece of junk that you will hate to shoot.

Better cut your losses and send it to me, right away :p :D .

Sounds like you got a steal of a deal on a good rifle, with a good price to boot. Nice find.

Almost a Great deal!

Only way it could have been better is if it had been chambered in .270 Win. You know, that .30-06 is pretty slow and doesn't have a very good trajectory. That said, if you want to sell it, I'd be happy to "take-it-off-your-hands" as a "mercy-purchase" so you can recover your funds. :D

It is a seriously nice set-up! Why don't I ever find nice deals like that?

You got a great deal! There is one weakness in this rifle. The locking lugs are screwed onto the barrel and soldered in place. On mine, the solder broke and allowed the lugs to turn. This turned my rifle into a "blowback" .30-06! I discovered this when I touched off a round and heard an extra-extra-loud BANG! When I picked up the ejected case it had been fire-formed into a straight wall case.

Took the gun to a gunsmith and he welded it up. Worked fine. The design was changed in the 7400.
