Are any of you rethinking your planned hunting trip for this fall? Are you going regardless of the recession, or are things downgraded or even postponed?

The crisis has actually gotten my wife to ask that I bring home more meat this year, so the crisis has actually expanded my hunting this coming season. I hunt about 25 minutes from the house, so it is not much of a financial burden on me.

I hunt very locally- so it won't affect our season either. Might change me from getting the super sportsmans though and just getting a regular sportsmans license to save a few dollars.

Nah, I'm actually planning to spend more this year and go out of state. But my income does not vary directly with the general economy, so that would explain it.
Now if gasoline were to go back to $3.50 or $4.00 per gallon, then that would not change the total # of days I hunt, but it WOULD change my pattern. Instead of hunting X number of weekends without taking off work, I'd instead do something like take a whole week off work and hunt solid, to cut down on gas costs going back and forth within the state.

I was hoping to get more hunting in this fall. But unfortunatly, I've been busier than I have ever been before and see no signs of the work load letting up. Indeed, the more the HopeChange express rolls over us, the busier I will be trying to slow it down.
So, yes, I will probably be hunting less this year (and I hunted less last year because of it too)
Luckily, however, I still have a trip to Oklahoma and a couple of midwestern bird hunting trips planned. And a bear hunt too!

I am fortunate enough to have a lease that is close enough to my residence that it is not a burden to go there when time permits. I will however be trying to fill all my tags and so will the little woman.

HA I love living in the country my most copmlicated hunting decicions is deciding which gun to grab as I walk out my back door.
Just put in for my fall turkey tags getting that great time of year again. Shooting your own food will help cut down on food costs thats why I belive there will be more people out hunting this year and more hunting for meat rather than racks being the primary goal.

Nope, my hunting is done locally. I might try to do more "easy" hunting for small game though.

Hey Ken you mean they don't give you an option to take it verbally thru an interpreter? That's what the U.S. does. Or like Lowe's they have a book with all languages and you just point to the one that you speak. Only in America, I think it is wrong that they don't offer your tests in English. You could just hunt anyway and if you get caught you could say "no hablo" LOL
