I am interested in a hunting trip to the USA.Any suggestions on area ? I am looking at duck shooting (wild).Have been on the usual sites but none have been to impressive.Would also want to rent a gun...transporting from England involves to many problems.

Well, if ya make it down here, I'll loan ya a shotgun. The birds ain't down here good, yet, need some more cold air to push 'em down, but generally it's good huntin'. There are also outfitters around. I have a goose hunt booked for the 17th of December could fit you into. It's 150 a morning and we only have 3 going so far. I originally booked it for two and he charged us 175 a gun, but now my bud's son wants to go. Not sure how many he wants for 150 a gun, but four might be enough.

I don't know if you can do a waterfowl hunt on a 2 week temp license or not, need to check with the Texas Parks and Wildlife site. Need a federal duck stamp and whatever P&W says you'll need for the state.

Also, check out Eagle Lake, Katy Prairie outfitters out of Houston. They are a BIG outfitter that puts on good goose and duck hunts west of Houston over to the Eagle Lake area. I'm sure you can google 'em. Might try "Larry Gore's Eagle Lake Katy Prairie". He's been in business a long time and gets a lot of out of state business, does a good job. Book a hunt, I could join ya. 6 to a party with those guys. A hunting club I belonged to had 12 spots with 'em and I used to go up there and hunt three or four times a season. I hunted geese with 'em, rice and grain fields. The geese are snows/blues and speckle bellies (White Fronted Geese) mostly with a few "brant" (lesser canada).
