Hunting Turkey Saturday - What to use?

In a perfect world we center the pattern on the turkeys head, end of story no matter what shot size we use.

I like shot sizes that have the ability to penetrate feathers and break some bones just in case I have to go to plan B. Such as missed first shot or he makes you out and starts running.

As many have posted patterning your gun is important so you know what your limitations, and max range, are.

this morning at 5:40am the birds started hammering, i waited untill 6:15am to start a low call from a old lynch and was answered right away by two birds and they had a ways to work to me and at 6:45 i took a shot, a complete miss. i am going to leave them alone tomarrow. and hunt several miles away and go back on thursday. they were two very nice birds. eastbank.

Eastbank, I wish I had the energy you do. Just cutting the grass has me shot for the last couple days physically. Today I put a few hours in building a primitive jelly cupboard and I am pooped. I'll get out a few more times yet before the season is over.
Better luck to you next time out.

sigs, just getting ready to head out,i have every thing in the truck. i was hoping for a little rain this morning to cool things down a little. eastbank.
