hello all, im new to the boards and i wanted to hear your opinions on this. i would love to take my old 1947 m44 out for whitetail this year and i would like to know if some sellier and bellot 150gr. soft points would do the job. any feedback is appreciated. thanks!:D

They'll do the job just fine, as long as they land in the right place. You could try the Prvi SP's as well, and see which groups tighter.

Practice up so you know your ability, use that knowledge to make an ethical shot...and you'll be bbq'ing bambi.

Next up, brine or marinade?

that or the privi 150gr sp just got some the other day. just check there is no big change in poi at 50yds when sighted in at 100yrds. you should only see about 4 to 5 inches high at 50yrds no change right or left or you might stability issues needing a 174gr or 180gr bullet. good luck with it.

I used sellier and bellot 180 grain soft points in mine after sporterizing it. I didn't take a deer with it but my buddy got a 10 pointer and it worked just fine. It's scoped. I sold it to him right before he got his buck.

I've got some Silver Bear 203g SP that would be a good deer killer round, subject to state and local regulation, of course. If you can reliably hit an 8 inch dinner plate, you should be good for deer hunting.
