Being a relatively new hunter I went out in these high winds (lower Michigan) not knowing that deer activity would be greatly curtailed. It looks like it could be like this for quite a while. Has anyone read what this will do to the rut, if anything? Any tips on how to hunt whitetail in high winds?

Theyll be bedded down until the wind subsides and not move if they can help it. Spot and stalk but the wind would be a B if its not consistent.

Doing the Rut, it MIGHT help to stay in your treestand ALL day.
Of course, Morning and Evening are traditionally better but the bucks have a tendency to move more at rutting time.
I had a nice Bow Kill not that long ago and the 7 point showed himself 15 yards from my stand at 1:30 PM.
Keep clean ESPECIALLY your foot gear.
I keep my foxpee scented boots in a plastic bag and put them on just prior to walking from my truck to my stand.
