I just started CCW this year. I have a Theiss Hybrid tuckable holster that has been great. However now that things are getting colder I find myself wearing sweaters to work and sweatshirts when I am out and about. Since I don't normally tuck these in I have noticed the holster makes a lot of creaking noise when there isn't shirt between the belt hooks and the leather. Is this normal for this type of holster? Any recommendations to help quiet it down?

Some possibilities, in no particular order:
Swap out the spacer that keeps the metal clips off of the leather body (I've added rubber grommets there on quite a few IWB holsters)
Powder the holster (I don't like this method myself, I prefer...)
Use a heavy coat of waxy leather preservative on the backer (I like Obenauf's)
Realize that nobody is noticing the creak but you, and that if anyone did, they wouldn't associate it with a boomstick on your belt.

Wow, didn't realize it had been over two weeks since I posted this. Anyway a quick update. After wearing the Theiss Holster for a couple weeks without a shirt tucked into it, it has stopped creaking. I guess it just needed some time to get broken in.

I highly recommend this brand of holster.
