DSA made STG58 Austrian rifles are not worth the time/money, anyone have direct experience? I am thinking of trying to get the STG58 carbine clone from DSA.

I have a DSA STG 58 Carbine with an 18" barrel, bipod and fixed stock. It is the second FAL pattern I have owned, and is clearly superior to a Century that I had 15 years ago. I have no complaints about my DSA, but prefer my M1As.

It is fun to shoot off the bipod and runs without any issues (once I got the front sight adjusted- it shot 3 feet low from the factory). It is just not the 7.62 I choose most often to take to the range.

All in all, a nice rifle which is ready to go out of the box. Compared to M1As and AR format 7.62s, I didn't think its price was excessive.
