I have a Benelli SuperNova with the ComforTech stock, and thought I'd try out the ComforTech recoil pad. Holding the pad in my hand it feels like it would be comfortable, however, I had a huge problem when I tried to put it in the stock. Well, the problem was removing the old recoil pad.

I looked up on one of their videos to figure out how to remove the old recoil pad, and it looked simple enough. Just pull it off the stock, right? Well, wrong. Apparently I am not strong enough to separate the recoil pad from the ribbing that holds it into the stock. However, I AM strong enough to rip the ribbing out of the stock (I still cant get them apart). I'm left with a stock that can't accept recoil pads, a combination of a pad+ribbing that is a less comfortable pad and will not go back into the stock (it slides right back out), and a comfy new recoil pad that is useless even as a paperweight.

I sent an email to Benelli, but I don't expect to hear back for days (same goes if I sent a letter) and their customer service business hours are EST M-F, which means it will be a while before I can even get ahold of anyone. Has anyone else had this problem? Did I do something wrong, or is it a manufacturer defect?

Sometimes slow and easy works better than gorilla strength. Same principle as opening jars with a vacuum seal. If Benelli won't replace it for you I would suggest shoo goo. Strong enough to bond on a semi permanent basis, but won't leave you totally messed up if you want to eventually remove the stock.

I actually didn't apply THAT much force to it (I'm not that strong). I tried slow and easy, but it didn't work, so I continued to apply pressure until POP goes the weasel.

I should mention that once it broke, I tried separating the two pieces, and they're still stuck together.
