I wanted to find out if anyone had an assempbly chart / manual / guide / prayerbook for a Savage model 67 pump shotgun.

Now the story. I was given a shotgun from someone who didn't know how to properly clean it. I know I shouldn't have even tried it. But I saw a significant amount of rust inside the magazine tube. I couldn't find the charts on the internet. But I couldn't sleep until I KNEW that there was no rust. It ate away at me as surely as the rust I was imagining would eat away at my shotgun. Rust on my gun is a mark of shame on me and my family name. Well I am an engineer. So I thought I could figure it out. You can see how it ended.

I PROMISE I WILL NEVER AGAIN TAKE A GUN APART WITHOUT KNOWING EXACTLY HOW TO GET IT TOGETHER AGAIN.

I don't know and this may get moved to the forum:
Harley Nolden's Institute For Firearms Research

If that forum moderator Jagermeister doesn't catch this thread or a member knows, that is whom I would ask.

Don't he ashamed, it's ok to need help. Let's call in the experts...

And away we go.....

Well, I worked as a gunsmith for quite a few years, and I confess that I took apart guns without knowing exactly how to get them together again. The trick is to first study the gun and get an idea of how it is made and the function of the parts. Then take things slow, and note (maybe in writing) exactly how something came apart and the order of the pieces. Then, usually, there is no problem putting it back together. Note the "usually".

Lotsa luck!

Jim
