As topic states, I cannot find registration of currently owned firearms in Fienstein's proposed bill

Her website with brief...from the horsies mouth (pun intended)...
http://www.feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/assault-weapons-ban-summary

I can find it on WEBSITES, but not within the proposed bill.

IS THERE MANDATORY REGISTRATION OF EXISTING BANNED GUNS within the proposed bill named ''Assault Weapons Ban of 2013''?
Has anyone a direct statement, webpage link etc

thanks!!!

Thank you for your post fellow THRoader.
Yes I read that in her website's brief. However as stated, some personal // bloggers websites show, registered under NFA and a plain clause stating so.

If it is indeed true then she's omitting it ON PURPOSE because of known outrage. Which is good on 2 points 1) the outrage factor 2) can show, once again, banners cannot reveal their true intentions.

Hey I'm not in for any of it...just want to get the facts on what is/is not part of the proposed bill

We have to see the actual legislative language. The summary of the bill, posted on Feinstein's web site, contains the obvious contradiction of saying, first, that the affected weapons will be non-transferable, and then later saying that grandfathered weapons will be transferable with a background check. Also, what happened to her idea of registration through the NFA?

All in all, it's an absurd muddle.

NFA Registration has been in early versions of her briefing but isn't in this more recent one.

Still, the page you linked to isn't an actual bill either. Until its a numbered Senate bill with full text available we won't know what it says for sure.

One thing that is definitely scary:

All semiautomatic pistols that can accept a detachable magazine and have at least one military feature: threaded barrel; second pistol grip; barrel shroud; capacity to accept a detachable magazine at some location outside of the pistol grip; or semiautomatic version of an automatic firearm.

That right there knocks out the Glock 17, as it is a semi-automatic version of the Glock 18. Depending on how broadly that was interprted, it could even knock out a majority of Glock's product line as almost all of them are slight variations on the same design.

The Glock 18 is an automatic version of a semi-automatic firearm, as the G17 came out first. However, that does not mean that the DF won't try to get all Glocks banned under that.

That would be interesting to say the least. Banning all Glocks under this would probably have the effect of shutting down their production in this country which could cost a lot of jobs.

As for the OP's question. Let's wait until the actual text of the bill comes out. Personally I'm hoping the NFA language is still in there but that's mainly because I believe the more outrageous stuff the bill contains the easier it will be to kill.

That, and maybe someone can tack on permanently reopening the National Firearms Registry, so if it does pass, we'll at least be able to actually buy a Glock 18.

Harry Reid said he would bring the bill to the Senate floor. He will have a very flexible policy on amendment/rider introductions to the bill. Hence, I think he believes it will get all cluttered up and not pass.

Feinstein's bill will still allow you to sell your pre-ban assault weapons but you will have to handle the transfer through a FFL who will do the background check. So no private sales. Pre-ban magazines would not be transferable. The registration idea in the draft summary released a few weeks ago was not included in the bill she introduced this week.

You state that as though it were a compelling reason to believe they wouldn't suggest it. Did you read the list of firearms prohibited by name?

Check it: http://www.feinstein.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/assault-weapons-ban-summary

It bans all Stag Arms AR Rifles and all Rock River AR rifles and AR pistols. Could those two companies continue to exist if these products were prohibited?

You have to pass it then you can read it! Sound familiar? Same method for shoving something through w/out allowing the details to be seen.
She is obviously a crazy she bat but so ugly nobody who has seen her will ever get any sleep w/out nightmares.
Where do people like this come from? Mars?
