So here's the thing. I cannot find a cz-75b anywhere around me. Gun dealers around here don't seem to stock them. I've been told it was simply "due to lack of popularity" .. but that's not exactly it. Keep in mind here that I'm in NY , so the pistol must come with a 10 round mag, and have a fired case for COBIS. I had my FFL call the distributors last week, and there were none available. The FFL was told on the phone that the distributors were waiting for 'more interest'. Well, how are they supposed to get interest while they just aren't available ? Also though, the FFL was told that the CZs did not come with a fired case, so that's a big part of it. (They did have hi-caps available, with no case) The shops can have their pistols taken to where they need to go to have a case fired for COBIS, but it's a big pain for them, and of course the wait on the guns is that much longer and the price just a little higher. Still though, they seem so popular here on THR that it amazes me that they say there isn't enough interest to supply them. :banghead:

Yeah, Bud's and several other online retailers won't ship handguns to NY, even if they are perfectly legal to own here. CDNN is the same way, and there are others I cant think of off the top of my head. This thing with not being able to get a 75B is ridiculous though. As I see it my only recourse is to wait until someone is selling one used and then asking them to sell it without the hi cap magazine included. BUT that of course raises the common questions when buying a gun used.. "Why are they selling it ? Does it malfunction ? , etc." Used guns shipped into NY don't require a COBIS shell though.

Contact CZ-USA directly, 1 800 955-4486, ask them if they know of dealers/distributers who will send new CZ-75s to New Yawk.
Or. move out of there into a Free State.

A Fellow THR member tells me that he knows of a store up around his area that carries CZ products. It would probably be over an hour each way. Now.. keep in mind that in NY that means a trip to the store to put down the money, a trip back to my home county office to get it added to my permit, a trip back out to the store to get the gun, and of course a trip home ... Now I do want a CZ and all .. but I'm not sure it's worth 5 to 6 hours of driving and gas. :scrutiny: Still though, it might be an option IF they have them.

If Buds won't ship to NY, try J&G Sales. They are an authorized CZ dealer and I believe will ship anywhere according to the laws in that are (for NY: fired shell case and limited cap mag):

You might also try doing a search for CZ 75b on Guns America and Gun Broker. You could also give Davidson's a try and see if you can find one close to you.

There's a shop in Albany NY that carries lots of CZ's. Would that be helpful?

Yep, I think that's the shop mentioned to me earlier by a THR member I know in that area. It's a lot of driving, but it seems like the best option if I want it that badly.

As far as the JGsales ones, and the gunbroker listings, the problem is they still don't come with the fired case. There is an FFL here that could get that done , but it would cost more, and their transfer prices are ridiculous.

I just sold one, but I think your state requires FFL to FFL only and maybe some other BS as well. I'm one of a very small minority here that's just not so impressed with CZ's. If you're really set on that platform, maybe you can pick up an Armalite, EAA or Sphinx perhaps? Good luck on your search.

Ha. My plight on this one continues. There is the one shop in Albany NY carrying them. That would involve about 5 hours or more of driving back and forth to complete the buying process, which in my big full size Silverado would cost an awful lot of gas too. As for the Gallery of Guns suggestion. That's a no go , they list 0 in stock. I had the local gander mountain do a full store seach , and they list 0 in stock in any store. My other local shops can't get them at all... :banghead:

Go to Pennsylvania. They sell guns on street corners to anyone and everyone. It's true, Bloomberg said so.

Oh the ironing!

Don't forget Baby Eagles and EAA Witnesses in addition to the similar ones mentioned. Good luck.

I've never seen those around here either, other than the baby eagle I already have. And the reason I want the 75b is for the frame mounted safety that can be carried C&L.

Might be worth it to rent some micro-economy model for the trip, depending on car rental rates and gas prices in NY, and what kind of mileage you get.
