WOW! I am typing this with a BIG GOOFY grin on my face.
Picked up my NIB SW 317 kit gun yesterday and ran 100 rounds of
Remington 22LR that I bought the other night at Walmart for $9 and change for 400 rounds.
I need to work on my trigger pull (I'm used to a GLOCK 40cal), BUT I was amazed at how well this little gun shot. Once I warmed up to it (about 50rds) I was doing 3 inch groups at 40 feet. Hoping to get better.
Next range trip I will adjust the sights.
So far seems like a keeper.

I've had one for a few years now. thousands of rds fired. very neat gun.
Had trigger issues in the beginning but I sent it back to S&W for a repair that was my ouwn fault and it came back with a much nicer double action trigger pull.
I would like to see a Magnum version.
Here are some chrony numbers:
Rem HVRN Rem HVHP Stinger Amer. Velocitor

S&W 317 900 965 1100/1140 1000

The only faster, accurate shooting gun I have is a Ruger 512.
