I had every intention of getting rid of it...

So I picked up a Marlin 336 LTS as part of a group of guns recently. I intended to just sell the Marlin immediately...but...after I got my hands on it...I was immediately taken under it's spell. This is a neat little gun...and it's in mint condition...looks like it just came out of the box. I have on need for a 30-30 lever gun...but now that I have it I just can't see myself getting rid of it.

Have you found yourself in a similar situation? What was the gun?

Less than 2700 of those were made in 1988-89. I wouldn't get rid of mine at any price. With the 16" barrel, straight grip and trimmer stock/forend pattern it makes a lightweight handy little gun.

Agreed you should keep it; no question. Wish I could find one of those at a decent price!

I'm with Python - all of them, except a few pieces of garbage I purchased when just getting started that I traded in for finer hardware thereafter.

everybody should have a marlin 30-30 in their collection.as well as a winchester.and hopefully a savage. either a 99 or a bolt 340.i can not choose between the 3.they are all awesum weapons!

A buddy, knowing my affinity for levers, practically gave me a Ted Williams 30-30 a few years back. There was nothing wrong with it he just hunts with more expensive deer rifles now. I don't even hunt but I can't seem to part with it. I take it out an knock a hole in a fence post now and then.
