I just purchased my new Beretta 92fs INOX, went shooting today the gun was flawless and extremely accurate i am very pleased with it......... but when firing in double action the trigger is way to hard to pull back and completely throws me off target. I read on some gun forums that if you get get a "D" hammer spring which is 16lbs pull i think, it will help with the Double Action trigger. my question is does the "D" spring make that much of a difference? Is there anything else i can do to make the double action trigger smoother and lighter without major modification? would putting a "D" spring in harm the reliability with the firearm?

Having shot both, I'd say the spring makes a huge difference. I went from being barely able to pull the trigger to a semi-accurate first shot.

The D spring does help quite a bit.

A low budget fix is to cut three twists off of the mainspring with a pair of kleins. But only do this is you're needing some better DA trigger pull and don't have the cash to replace the spring.

Understand that the stock springs are built to military spec, there fore have to be a nasty pull.
