I've been screaming about how I'm not going to buy any more guns until I get a gunsafe...

Yeah, right.

I walked out of the Leesburg, Virginia, gunshow this afternoon with a Star BM for $159 (includes tax and fees).

The finish is in fairly good shape except for the front and rear of the grip frame. The case hardening is still evident on the hammer, and the bore is in what appears to be almost unfired condition. Still very bright and shiny, with well defined edges to the lands.

The trigger is also amazingly good for one of these guns, with a bit of creep but let-off at what I would estimate to be about 7 pounds.

It rattles like crazy when I shake it, though, and the slide just slops around on the frame. Hopefully that won't make it too inaccurate.

I told myself after I bought the P7PSP that I didn't need or want any more 9mms.

I guess I just can't say no to a great deal.

I didn't see anything but junk at the last gunshow. I did see a Delta Elite that looked like it had been dragged behind a car for about 50 miles - $450.

I bought a PSP about 2 months. It looks like it's unfired. I wasn't looking for it at the time - just stumbled across it. Well, I had to jump on it since I'm wanted a P7 for along time (didn't really bother me about the mag release). After the surveying the rather large dent in my bank account, I promised no more guns for a few months. Exactly a month later the same dealer had a stainless 3 inch Taurus 431 (in unfired condition). Couldn't let it pass since I've been keeping my eye pealed for one, they seem to be few and far between around here, and they are a discontinued model. My solution is to go to the shows only once, without any credit card, checkbooks, or more than about $20-30. Hopefully this works since I'm wanting a Glock 20 now. :D

LOL!!! Mike .... hey, go to a gunshow and you gotta expect this is possible ... come on!! One of those ''can't refuse this'' sorta deals! I think you are as weak willed as me! :p

Let us know how it performs once tested out.

Mike-please forgive the slighty off topic, but 15 years ago ther was a returant in or close to Leesburg that had the walls pretty well covered with old lever actions and other rifles?

I've skipped the last few Crossroads of the West gunshows at Del Mar. They've become nothing but flea markets with a firearm theme. Good deals on knives, but I can usually find better deals on the internet. Ditto ammo. $5 to park and $8 to get in plus the hassle of lugging that stuff back to the car. It would be different if it weren't CA. Maybe I'll start doing the Phoenix shows ;)

It was there as of a year ago. Food sucks though, but at least the decor was interesting.

You probably drooled on your food, that's why is sucks.;)

Two things: first, any drooling I did occured before the food came. Second, drooling would've made the dry, overcooked steak a bit juicier :p

The guns on the walls are neat, but they show the effects of what must be decades of smoke (cooking and tobacco smoke) and cooking grease.

It's not far from the gunshop. Dunno if the guns are functional. The probably were once upon a time. I can't recall the name either other than the name includes "charcoal".

Don't bother going though. We went because it looked like it might be a good "sleeper" steakhouse. It was a sleeper all right...

Nido's is MUCH better.

How did a thread about buying another gun turn into a critique of Leesburg's restaurants?

Oh yeah, it's my fault. Sorry. :p
