My 9mm suppressor was direct thread. Light enough it would work that way on an M9 but it mostly went on fixed barrel hosts like CZ Scorpion. I have a recoil booster (Nielsen device, LID, inertial decoupler, whatever you prefer to call it) now and was disappointed that I was getting 75% malfunctions. Decided to try some factory 147gr Win Ranger (my carry ammo), and it was 100% reliable. So I think my 147gr load is a little under-powered.
ACME coated 147gr flat point
4.8gr HS-6
1.11 OAL
Thinking about switching to the RMR 124 gr match winner bullet and W231/HP38 combo. Curious what velocities people are seeing with that combo. I want to discontinue HS-6 because the only reason I had it was for the 147gr 9mm subsonic loads. I want to get at/near a max load for the recoil impulse to cycle, but velocity in the 1050 or less neighborhood even from the longer barrels like a 7 3/4" Scorpion or 10" AR
I'm almost out of the ACME 147 bullets so since I have to buy more anyway, I don't care about changing them. They're also currently almost a dime so not the significant cost savings vs a lot of other projectiles right now. I do not want to go powder shopping - W231/HP38 or at worst stay with HS-6 if there is a compelling reason, but don't want a powder than what I already keep on hand.
Oh - I also did think about just bumping up my current load a bit, but I don't think a few tenths is going to get it there. At least not reliably and across a lot of different 9mm semi autos. The Win Ranger SXT is standard pressure but clocks at about 1,000fps. My load is about 900. The RMR 147gr would seem a better choice - max load and still slow, but the note on website about it not feeding well in Glock & CZ (both of which I have extended threaded barrels and will use as hosts) ruled it out. I don't want a round nose - hollow point or flat point. My standard blasting 115gr is all round nose so I want to tell at a glance what it is
