I would venture to say it's a "CCC" because it has some really bad fit and finish, but I really don't know where it came from. Help would be appreciated.

Something that really interested me was the types of pins found in the knife. The three body pins and the pivot pin of the small blade are very rough 1800's looking things, while the pivot pin of the large blade is finely machined and made flush like what might be found in a pair of pliers. I'm clueless.

The only marking on the entire thing is a very light mark "JAP" on the large blade.

When I put it under a much brighter light, I realized the print is actually "stainless JAPAN." :banghead:
Any ideas as to the company that made it?

No.

But judging from the overall quality of the knife?

I would guess it was one of the first knife companies that dug itself out from under the rubble of WWII after the end of the U.S Occupied Japan days in 1952.

IMO: It would be worth more if it did say Occupied Japan on it!
