I went browsing, looking for Sig P229, Berettas, Smiths, HK P7M8 and Desert Eagle :D The finish on that new P229 is crap, I can't believe it's even made out of factory like that, there's scratches by the ejection port, and I still can't find my P7M8.

So I found this PX4, felt really good. Very clean & smooth finish. So I bought it, pick up in 10 :D
I have $2000 left :D

Congrats on the new gun!

I have the PX4 in 9mm and I really like it, fun gun to shoot and very accurate, also I find it to be quite attractive. On a side note I just wish Fobus would get off their butts and release the holster, I want to start carrying mine. Anyone know if the Fobus holster for the PX4 is avalible anywhere yet? Their website still shows it on backorder.

I see lots of replies here, I guess when your gun works, there's no need for 'tuning' or extractor work, or which magazine to buy so it'll feed in your gun, there's nothing to talk about really.

So it comes with two spare back grip. I wonder what that round thing is for in the center of the box.
The finish is excellent, I'm impressed.

Never had a jam. Even when limp-wristing.

The rotating barrel system feeds like a 92FS, but is much stronger than the locking-block system.

The magazine springs are strong. Might want to look into a mag loader.

I think the "round thing" in the case is to prevent the case from being crushed.

The PX4 looks interesting. Does the recoil of the PX4 with the rotating barrel feel different compared to the more common "link down" type?

I considered buying PX4 Storm when I was looking for my first hand gun. Well, none of the gun stores carried PX4 and thus I never had chance to see them in person. At the end, I went with CPO P228. I am very interested in as to how PX4 feels in action. I've heard good things about them.

I notice the Cheaperthandirt has PX4 40 has 14 and 17rd magazines. I thought the PX4 40 only has 14 rd max. Who has the 17rd one?

congrats on the new gun, i have handled the px4 a few times and i like it alot, and i especially like the fact of the three dot sights, and it seemed to point naturally for me.

Now with pics, with HK USP 45 and G22 :D
does it suppose to come with extra mag release?

Yes it came with two backstrap, I'm just using the one that was already in the pistol. I thought it might come with one or two mag buttons.

:banghead:

bg266 - I've been trying to figure that thing since I bought mine!

Oh Yea - - - the Px4 has the nicest feel of anything I have ever shot. Just seems to fall on-mark all by itself. I've never used a laser sight before, but I just picked up a LaserMax rail mount. This gun just seemed to beg for one.

A few hundred rounds through the PX4 40 now. So far, there's not one single jam. I've used WWB, Remington/UMC 250 pack.
Well, I don't expect any jam, it's a Beretta.
I've tried small grip, but I think I like the mid size one better.

i seriously considered getting a px4 storm for a long time. They seem like good pistols, but for some reason i wanted to see what all this 1911 talk was about. There is a p7 that has just been sitting here at the local store, too bad i dont have the funds to test it out :(

Welcome to the brotherhood!

Edit: I tired to figure out what that round plastic doohickey in the case is to no avail, too. If anyone knows I'd be glad to hear it. At the moment I'm using mine to hold small parts, screws and such from computer equipment at the office.

Right. THat's all it is, folks. In gun stores and at the factory a lot of boxes get stacked on each other and it adds up, those bottom ones would get crushed if not for that. Sorry, I know you were all hoping it was some sort of magic zombie grenade.

Also, I'd be careful with getting that Beretta too close to that HK. I hear if you put two black polymer guns next to each other they will start fighting, many innocent children could be killed. At least that's what I heard from Nancy Pelosi.

The one I tried was very nice - minimal recoil for a small-ish (considering that it's billed as a full-size) polymer .40SW, nice grip, great sights, and very accurate. Appeared to be very well-made, too. My only objection? Slide-mounted controls, although they're pretty unobtrusive on this pistol.

From Beretta's website: The new Beretta Px4 Storm pistol is not only the best example of the semiautomatic sidearm concept, but it is also a perfect manifestation of advanced technology and aesthetics.

Speaking to a fellow Heckler & Koch fan, I have to say this: Italians. They're as silly as Germans, but at least they're more honest about it. HK would never admit that the appearance of their pistols had ever crossed their minds, and that all the sexy and striking chamfers and contours on the USP slide were strictly functional. Fortunately both countries make great guns. Enjoy your new PX4! :)
