Well, I bought a Hi-Point 9mm Carbine. Probably the ugliest gun I have ever seen. For $70, I figure I couldn't go wrong, especially with their no-questions asked lifetime warranty. Figure it'll make a good little plinking gun, ammo is cheap enough for my college buddies to go out and shoot with me, and on top of that, the gun just fits me well, and feels good. Plus, I love the apreature sights.

So, anything I should know before I go and shoot it? Anywhere online I can find a disassembly diagram?

lol, when I read the thread subject, I immediately thought "don't tell me; hi-point carbine". Yap they're ugly, but I want one too - at the price you got, you can't go wrong - congrats!

Yeaaa! The joys of buying a used gun. Looks like the previous owner dumped the gun in a vat of Hoppes, there is oil everywhere.

On a lighter note, I can now legally buy 9mm :D

I got one on a whim, too. Turned out to be a great little carbine. About the most hideous thing I've ever seen, but it's been really accurate and absolutely reliable. Can't really argue with that. The capacity kind of stinks, though. Good buy!

Watch the stock - it's the only thing I ever saw wrong with the Hi-Point carbine, and that was the two peice plastic stock splitting lengthwise. Saw it twice. then have fun!

Splitting stock? That's what duct tape is for. Cant' make it look worse

The duct tape is good for keeping the baling wire in place.

$70 sounds like a heck of a deal for something that will make a cheap, fun shooter.

It is also a heck of a deal for something that most dealers were selling new for over $200. I found one place selling them for $150, one for $175, and a few selling for $289

Gunshows are pretty much only good for the private sales walking around.

Another great gunshow remark. One dealer commented that $150 for a M95 and a case of ammo that I was carrying around was to much. he had one on his table for $200. The reason? His was NIB :banghead:

Heck yeah that's a great deal for $70 bucks, and they do in fact offer a real "Lifetime" warranty. I used to own one of their 9mm pistols and my old man still keeps one in the truck. Ugly as sin and works well as a hammer also, but they both go bang everytime the trigger is pulled.
