I just discovered lever-action is loads of fun!

I've never owned or worked a lever action rifle until I recently bought this old used Winchester 94 in 30-30. I wish someone had told me earlier about how fun lever action is. Even though I have semi-auto rifles that takes care of the extraction and feeding automatically, working the lever just feels so satisfactory in the locking and opening of the action. In a way, it's even better than the bolt action. I don't know how to describe it other than that 30-30 in a Win94 lever action is a great combo. The gun is light, action is smooth and recoil is minimal. The Winchester 94 is definitely a keeper! Anyone else enjoys their lever action?

I also have been bitten by the lever bug. I don't know how I ever lived without one. I traded for my Winchester 1894 (made 1942) about a month ago and since have bought a Winchester 9422. I originally traded into the 1894 thinking I would use it for trading stock. I will never get rid of that rifle for anything. Like someone told me "every household should have one."

I like to ride my horse in the mountains, so I figured I should get a lever and a scabbard. Oh, what a nice rifle combination. Reasonable power out of a handy and satisfying package. Like you, I got a pre-safety Winchester in .30-30 and it's just a wonderful gun.

I've never had more fun with a rifle than my Marlin 30-30 . It's light, a joy to shoot, and even though the action is rough it's hard to find more satisfaction in a firearm than rocking that thing forward and pulling it back.

Now if only I could find a .45-70 for under $400 dollars .

Only lever gun I own is a Winchester 150 .22 S,L,LR. It is a HOOT to SHOOT! One day I'll own a major caliber lever because they are just too fun to shoot.

Never had a Winchester levergun, but I have had several Marlins over the years. Leverguns...waaay up on the "Fun Gun" list.

I've long been a fan of levers, but only just last week did I finally jump in and pick up a decent Savage 99 in .300 savage. Being a lefty tends to steer a fellow to lever guns naturally.

30-30 has plenty of power for even the largest of mountain mulies. This old timer weighed just a tad over 300 lbs. yet was toppled with just 170 grain bullet through the chest. That's my eldest daughter in the photo.

i just received last week a Henry 22 lever youth. on a trade for some train stuff. went out yesterday and put 200 LR and 50 shorts through it. first gun i ever bought was a marlin 30-30 at the old coast to coast in ralston Ne.

I love bolt action rifles but have a 1955 Marlin 39A which I have also had a 59 year love affair with. It is truly a pleasure to use it.
