I just bought an Ontario Knives, SP1 Marine USMC NIB for $25. Here are some of the features:

Marine USMC features: 7" 1095 carbon steel clip point blade .1875" thick, with blood groove, 12 1/8" overall

I'm excited to get it!

here's the picture from ebay:

I also got a NEW Leatherman Juice S2 for $31 and a Leatherman Squirt P4 (slightly used) for $14.52!!! I'm stoked!!!

Sweet deal! That Ontario does look nice and comfortable. I'm still debating about Ontario, after what they did to RAT, but their carbon and rubber knives are made in the USA and are very reasonably priced. They also have simpler military (not "tactical") designs that I like and Queen looks like a pretty slick line of traditional folders. This includes Moore Makers with plastic handles, by the way.
Good score on the Leathermans, as well. They are useful little buggers, and some of the most sheeple-friendly things available. Does anybody know where they are made?

I got a Leatherman Juice S2 for Christmas... be careful! When folding it shut, it slams together under spring tension.

Pinched me so hard, it drew blood!

You're going to love that Squirt P4. I've had one since they came out and its still going strong.

Even had to use it to help a guy at the range with a stuck rod in his muzzle loader. Thought I'd break it for sure but it held up to the punishment.

Good grab. Come back with reviews and pics.

CZ.22 - I struggled with the R.A.T./Ontario quarrel for some time and finally decided not to cut off my nose to spite my face. The fact is that Ontario makes great, affordable knives. So, I'm going to support them for that and let them worry about their own problems. Besides, I don't know all the facts. In fact, I know more about R.A.T.'s side of the argument than Ontario's.

Hank - thanks for the tip!

Rup... reviews and pics comming.

Bill You stole that knife! i never buy off e-bay because I am not smart enough and only did 3 times years ago and got in some troubles for it. Somehow others used my account or tried too, and pay pal took 45 bucks..

I felt burned and so just don't, but i like that knife very well. Oil it well and it will out last you.. I like 1095 steel very well.

Mac - I've bought hundreds of knives on ebay and I ALWAYS get a deal! I've only been disappoined a couple of times and PayPal fixed it for me every time.

BTW, it helps to know WHO to buy from on ebay. For Example - "Poor Fish" is a good one. So is Deadwood Knives for pocket knives, and Ideal Outdoors has always been good to deal with.

Here are some more good ones...

Knifestore

Buffalo Gap Outfitters

Shopsaholic

Big Sky Knife

KY Knives

These are just a few I deal with quite often.

Curiosity got the better of me after reading the Ontario/Rat Cutlery comments so I did a little research about it (including verifiable public matters of record.) I won't be buying ANY more Ontario Knife products until there's a change in how they do business. If you want more info about it, feel free to PM me.

As for buying knives off of Ebay, I've had two bad experiences out of well over a thousand purchases. I'm very much an Ebay-aholic.

alaska - go to the R.A.T. forum on Bladeforums and read the last few posts in the R.A.T. vs. Ontario thread. It seems like they've worked out their differences.

Besides, I'll judge a company by the quality and price of their product and leave them to their own quarrels. If Ontario did something wrong, there are legal remedies their victims can pursue. IOW, it just ain't my fight!

I did go there and really didn't like what I read. This is America, and Ontario Knife company can operate as bereft of ethics as they'd like, and I can refuse to buy from them. I support your right to say it ain't your fight but I choose to do business with companies I respect. It's why I won't buy from Strider Knives or Ben & Jerry's.

alaska - I respect your right to choose. Thanks for the input. It's important that people know the background of the companies they do business with and then decide for themselves.

Thanks
