Yep no bs guys thanks to bds who graciously sent me some plated 180 grain bullets I was able to load my first box of 10mm for less that what I spend at subway :D:D:D:D when I say box I mean 50 not 20 or 25 this ain't hd ammo

Congrats! I spent a couple of hours loading as well, experimenting with 800x powder

What powder did you use?

So far I have some favorite loads in longshot, and Accurate#9.

How do you guys like 800x ? I've done all my 10mm using AA#7, but since powder is tough to find I may ave to try something else (assuming I can find any at all)

Well I used accurate no 2 why because I had it and my book said it was safe to use so it got the call

Wow, AA#2 is an awfully fast powder to use in the 10mm. How well did it work? Slide cycle well? Recoil? Ammo cycles correctly, no jams?

Accurate doesn't even list AA#2 for use in the 10mm, not even with the lightest pullets. Where did you get the load data?

Well arch I got it from my lee manual and I haven't had the pleasure of taking these rounds out yet I'll keep you updated I know it's faster than it ought to be that's why I just did 50 I figure I am going to find out if it works or not it's not like I used unpublished load data

Did you incorporate your setup amortization down to the grout in the tiles of your bathroom ?

J/k

Someone will be along to do it for you shortly anyway.

Congratulations ! Its a great feeling, isn't it ?

BDS is About the most standup guy iv'e ever digitally met. :D

I just hope his retirement finds him within a half a days travel from here when he finally sits down !

Yeah thanks blarby and I agree bds is awesome the load I used is 5.6 grains of accurate no 2 under a plated 180 grain bullet coal 1.25 plunk test passed mag test pased does this sound safe?

800X is such a large flake powder I didn't even try to through it in my powder measure. I hand trickled every charge. Especially since I was loading over published max load for defense purposes.

If that load is in your manual I see no reason why it wouldn't be safe... What is the OAL listed in the Lee data?

I am planning to get G20SF for retirement (bear country) and loading 40S&W long at 10mm lengths. I planned on getting a conversion barrel but many post good results shooting 40S&W loaded long so I would give it a try before buying a conversion barrel.

Since 40S&W brass is so plentiful at the range, it will save even more money compared to buying 10mm brass.

Can't wait for retirement and finally meet up with blarby to go shooting. :D

Update I just shot the 50 rounds of 10mm I made with accurate no 2 and they worked fine in my glock 20sf

800x can be loaded easily from a uniflow. It just takes technique. Since aa7 has been hard to come by lately, I have switched over to almost exclusive 800x loads for 10mm. Play with it and you will see that it can be dispensed with +/- 0.1 grns with a bit of effort and it works great in the 10mm.

The cases all looked fine normal ejection and everything dropped pretty close actually so I was happy I figured since it was going to launch it in to the next county as the 10mm detractors like to say :banghead: :D

LOVE 800x... HATE having to hand weigh every charge to maintain consistency. Move to LongShot.
LongShot has become my go to powder for everything except 9mm That means .40, .45, .357mag, 10mm (yippee!). I save titegroup for 9mm.

I just could not get 800x to meter consistently, whereas Longshot variances in weight are so small they are NOT detectable on the scale.
