I know everybody hates Hi-Point...

I don't recommend cutting a zamak slide to lighten it. You're just begging for that chunky slide to have a stress fracture and smack you in the face.

I couldn't tell if that was supposed to be a parody or not...

The HiPoint is a straight blowback, like the old H&K VP70, and the extra weight in the slide is there for a reason. Removing weight from the slide, I believe, compromises the safety, reliability and lifetime of the gun.

Only gun I ever shot that gave me trigger slap I actually noticed and it hurt..........was a 9mm hi point. It shot pretty accurately though ironically. Dare to say really well.

4300 ....wow this is a joke isn't it? I didn't watch with volume on the phone...so maybe I missed the joke?

They're much more inherently accurate than you would expect for the price but a race gun they are not. That said, I like mine and if I there was an inexpensive way of putting a microdot on it I would consider it. The 45 is a pretty fun range gun although not nearly as fun with current ammo costs.

Chrome plate the slide and paint the grips and put on a $4300 price tag? It has to be a joke.

Seriously, the Hi-Point is a pretty good gun for someone without a lot of bucks or the idea that inexpensive means cheap. They are reliable and reasonably accurate, all that is really necessary in a defense pistol. What else will a "better" and much more expensive handgun buy you?

A 2A page recently shared the video on facebook...

I see an entertaining parody of, or a jab at, Salient Arms. "Assailant Arms" coating the bbl with their "unubtainium coating" seemed to make it pretty obvious.

I dont know if looking into it too deep or not, maybe I am, the comments here mirror the thread on FB...

Saw that video a few days ago and had a good laugh. My father in law has a Hi Point and believe me, he gets a lot of grief from me about it. But if I'm being perfectly honest, it was a pretty accurate pistol. Ugly as all hell, but accurate.

Okay now I have seen everything...a $4300 Hi-Point!

Hope the Pentagon doesn't find out about this; they'll probably want to replace the M9 with it.

If you start with a low quality pistol a lot of expensive mods won't change the quality of the basic pistol, in fact some of the mods may reduce the strength and reliability.

Ah, but is the High Point a low quality pistol? Or was the $3500 pistol I once worked on that failed to fire over half the time really the low quality pistol?

I disagree. My first pistol was an AMT Hardballer, and today it is incredibly accurate and reliable. The only reason I dont shoot it much anymore is ammo availability, or lack thereof...

Of course, the only AMT part left is the frame. Even the Ceiner conversion on top of it has been customized.
