I'm out looking at a Model 28-2 P&R (1975) private party There is a little holster wear here and there. On right side at about 11:00 there is a rust spot but not to bad. Cleaned up real nice.
Then I see another one in the rack that looks a bit better, but it is a 29-2 and real sharp P&R (80)w/ TT, TH, red ramp F sight, white outlined rear sight, hardley notice the ring on cylinder, might poss be a small blue wear at tip of barrel, hard to tell. No other wear or bluing loss.
I then ask what is the asking price on the 28-2 and what about the 29-2. Hmmmm! what about if I take them both?? No origional grips for either so I will have to find some.
Can I take them home and check them out farther, No problem
I was going to take them back but instead I think I will give him the $750.00 cash he wants for both?? :D

So on average, you are paying $375 each?

The correct period S&W grips will cost another $50 - $100 a set when you can find them.

Even then, you should be real fine on the price per each.

They look very nice and worth the cash, but tread carefully, sometimes they really don't understand......"What are you going to do with more guns?"

Somethings are worth a sharp rebuke. For most of us it is life, get used to it.

She will understand, but it may take some time. ;)

By the way.... nice weapons!

If your wife even notices an extra blue S&W or two?

You don't have enough blue S&W's yet!

Works for me!

Fair warning: make this a "war between the sexes" thread, and it will be closed, and probably infractions issued.

In a heartbeat I would be all over that deal. I have this thing about the earlier S&W revolvers. :)

As to the wife thing. Life and marriage is all about compromise. You get something you enjoy and she gets something she enjoys. Not necessarily at the same time.

Two nice, clean vintage N frame revolvers for $750? I couldn't even imagine walking away from a deal like that! Great aquisitions!
