When dumping 60 grains of Swiss 1.5 down a drop tube, always make sure you put the 45-70 case under the drop tube first.

That's when I decided it was time to quit loading and go to bed.

LOL...been there, done that.

I can tell when it's time for bed when I miss primers on my Dillon 650...18 grains flowing out that giant 12 ga flash hole makes quite a mess. ;)

At least you were at home alone.

Once upon a time a certain member here removed his 2nd Dragoon from it's case on the firing line and proceeded to demonstrate how to load a percussion revolver. He managed to charge 3 (that's THREE) chambers before he noticed that he had failed to return the nipples to their rightful place in the cylinder the last time he had cleaned it. Unfortunately, the people to whom he was demonstrating did NOT fail to notice this omission. 90 grains of fffg Goex down his sleeve, all over the loading bench and the floor around the bench.

Well, the Mrs. was home, but she was upstairs and what she doesn't know won't hurt her. She's not too keen on me reloading in the house as it is.

if the dropped powder fell into the carpet make sure you get it up with something damp before the wife runs the vac.
I keep an old carpet cleaning machine in my reloading room to get spills up with they do happen .

My reloading room has a concrete floor (it's in the basement). So at least it's easy to sweep up dropped powder and primers.

Got ya , I had to mention it ..running a vac on powder in a carpet could be a problem .
I need to put a piece of solid flooring around my bench ...I worrie about the carpet and loose powder .

I`ve got a large piece of vinyl flooring left over from the kitchen remodeling ....I just need to remember where I put it !
and I always thought I was the only one that ever forgot to place a shell under the drop tube .....haha now I feel better ....anyone else ?

Hungry Seagull:As a unit of measure, a Grain is weight.(bad sentence, brai9n not working) There's 7,000 Grains in a Pound.

Black powder is measured in volume, but it's how much space X amount of Grains worth of powder takes up.
