I left for work today to go to an early meeting and realized I was naked about halfway there. I left my trusty S&W 642 in it's Mika round-cut pocket holster laying on the bed. Haven't left the house without a gun in a long time and it sure feels strange being without it. It feels like I forgot my wallet or something. At least I have my Buck Vantage Pro and a trusty hickory stick with me.

I've done that several times over the years and it really does feel like I'm just half dressed.

A while back while eating in a restaurant with several friends it came out that none of us had a gun.
I said, How sad is this, five of us with CHL's and not one of us have a gun.

Isn't funny how you get so use to packing that when you don't, it's like you lost something.
Everytime I go down to my brother's house in Maryland, I hate having to leave my gun at home. I love the eastern shore in Maryland, but they just don't get it down there in Baltimore.

That's why I have backups in the briefcase/laptop case & car.

This is the honest truth, I would have turned around and went back home and got my gun.

But it would almost be impossible for me to forget my gun as i leave my spare mag holster on my belt and my belt stays half off my pants where i take my holster off each night.
So you know i wear my pants several times as i don't work a real job and wear shorts around the house.
And then lastly i would be reminded i didn't have my bug when i put my wallet in my back pocket as that always makes me check the other side for my bug.

I may sound real paranoid, But honestly im only half paranoid.
My hobby is guns and ccw is a part of my life so i enjoy carrying my guns as much as i carry them to help protect me.

I almost never carry a handgun and never felt "half naked" w/o one. It isn't that bad out there.......not watching TV news might help a lot.

I don't watch much news at all, and the town I live in is safer than many. However, why would I not make sure I have one more way to protect myself if the need arises? There is no way anyone can accurately predict when you will need a firearm for protection. Hopefully, I will never be put in that position, but I don't see any reason to test fate.

I hear sticking your head in the sand works well, Or pulling the covers over your head makes all the bad things go away too.
Just remember its a personal choice to carry and if a person chooses not to or chooses too carry its their choice, No matter how safe an area may seem.

As a matter of fact i stopped watching the news as im already carrying 2 guns and a spare mag and im running out of room to stick guns. I told my mom i started carrying a 3rd gun today and had her guess where i was hiding it. It took her a while and she never guessed correctly as she didn't think id put a gun "UP" there.
I didnt actually put a gun there, But was funny seeing her face when i told her i did.

DasFriek,

That's priceless!!! My mother would believe me & ask if that was painful.

I also heard that if a person keeps telling themselves that, "It won't happen to me" works good also.

Oh wait a minute, that's what everyone says when "it" happens to them.

Isn't it a bit cold this time of year for doing that? :neener: :D

I suggest that unless you have a good reason for not doing it, leave the revolver and holster in the pocket. When you get dressed in the morning remove the holstered gun, get dressed, and then put it back. As an alternative, at night remove the revolver but leave the holster in the pocket as a reminder. If that doesn't work you need adult supervision. ;)
