Anyway, where can i find a GOOD AK-47 or preferably 74 parts kit thats not ridiculosy over priced? Ive mostly seen 300-500 dollar kits online but for that price i might aswell buy a complete one!!!

Check out the for sale boards on gunco, AK files, gunsnet, etc. I highly recommend Scott at DPH arms. He has the best prices and ultra-quick shipping.

Pick up a Romy kit now while they are cheap, and a bulgy 74 kit before they are gone (check akron armory for 74's). More AMD's are set to arrive soon, along with Polish Tantal's and AKM's. Yugo's are cheap now, too, but they require a special receiver and the bores are generally not too good.

Just a question, how difficult is it to make an AK? The AR snapped together easily, but the AK looks a tid bit more complicated to make. I would be using a complete recever, not knowledgeable enough to quite machine up an 80% or my own yet.

It is a lot more complicated than an AR, but not impossible. If I can do it, anyone can. I currently have one built on a 100% receiver and am almost done with another that was built on a flat. Check out the gunco firearms library for just about everything you need to know.

This site gives a good overview: http://pookieweb.dyndns.org:61129/AK/ak.htm

Look around for a SAR. You can always add a brake or refinish later. I use Chris at AK-USA for my builds.
