It's my pistol it's my friend, It's there when I think I'm alone, It's there when I am uncomfortable, It's there when I need it and it's there when I don't think I need anything. I've never known a dog so faithfull or a friend so trust worthy. It's a little to large and heavy to carry but I do. It prints under my shirt but thats what the permit is for. I could carry something smaller but I would always see it as smaller. I could carry something bigger but it would not be any more effective. This is an ode to my Sig P220, My faithful companion through life. You may think I need a hobby or you may say I need a girl (I have a wife). You can say all you want but you can never say I am a helpless victim because I am never really alone my P220 will be there forever. I'm a Iraqi campaign veteran with combat experience, I'm not delusional about the evils of this world I will grow old and die in my rocking chair not at the hands of some cowardly SOB.

I like mine too, 1995 vintage. Extremely reliable and I carry it a lot.

Careful with that. TX law states you can't let it print. No open carry allowance yet.
 
I really like mine also (maybe not as much as you love yours :D), its my duty weapon. I must admit though that I do carry a smaller .45 for off duty, it is easier to conceal (and here in Indiana I don't really have to conceal it, just want to).
 
I really like mine as well. I've only had it for 2 weeks, but it's a great pistol and now that I got my 10rd mags coming it will work great for our IDPA matches. Won our club match with it yesterday, fine shooting pistol!

Me too. I carry one for duty and I love it so much I had to buy one of my own with the .22 conversion as well. For a while I was using a ten-year-old one but we started having finish issues with it (LOTS of road salt/spray, dirt, grime in my patrol) so my Chief just bought me a new one a couple mo.'s ago. The new one has the night sights, rail, better grips......I'm hooked.

My next Sig is a TTT (1911 style .45)
 
I have had mine for 14 years now. It has been 100%, read as perfectly, reliable. You can't ask for more than that.
 
They are great, even the people I talk to that hate the looks can't deny the function. BTW it only prints when I bend down or lean to the left.
 
I love my P-220 too! I have found it to be a great handgun and I carry mine from time to time but I make sure I wear clothes and a holster that will not print.

Not in Texas my friend, A handgun that prints through clothes is not concealed and you my loose the right to carry your beloved P-220.

You could find yourself with a suspension of license for 30 days first offense and loss of license on the second.
 
This is my duty weapon and I love her, too. She treats me well. So well, in fact, I want to reward her with an SRT trigger. Together we are an stoppable pair. Sig P220's are definately the sexiest way to go.

I have a 1989 vintage west german P220. And I also JUST PLAIN LOVE IT! The finish on the slide is almost worn off from being carried...but I think that it just adds "character" to a fine weapon:) Aside from my 4" S&W model 28, it's my favorite handgun.
 
wnycollector; you could be my twin. LOL!!! We both have a 1989 vintage; you have you S&W 4" model 28 and I have my S&W 4" model 13 and I have a hard time deciding which of the two are my favorite. I like the "K" frame, but S&W is definitely the way to go for revolvers. Small world. Mike....
 
Mike, It's not that small a world as long as you stick to quality firearms in proven calibers! In all honesty, there are not that many hanguns that meet both criteria;)
 
P6 variant

I don't want to hijack the thread, but I've got a chance to purchase the P6/225 variant of the P220 and was wondering if $370 was a good deal for a 20 year old weapon.
 
Wow, great reading all of the good stuff about the P220. I'm currently on an Equinox, a week or so to go...:cuss:

Can anyone shed some light where the Sigs where manufactured/when? Such as when they were manufactured in Germany (or Europe)?

Is there that much - if any - in the quality?

FWIW, I plant to pick up another one, maybe the Combat model...:D
 
Thanks for the replies, I'm gonna get a Sig in 380 later. Mostly since jacket season in Tx. is pretty much over. It's either that or carry the wifes Glock G32 in .357sig. I am very careful to not print but without a jacket it is hard when your a full sized Soldier. I'll post some pics of my beloved friend when I get off leave. I would like to see some pics of yours also.

I love my P220 and I won't recieve it until the 25th!!! But I do know that I love it so much that it will take my wifes spot on the other side of the bed, she can sleep in the other room!!! I'm pretty sure my P220 won't snore......just make sweet booming noises when I caress her. OK I better stop there I'm starting to get a little worked up.

BTW Chiselchst aren't you supposed to be working! How do you find time to converse while you're at work? Hope you guys are having a quiet set of shifts and I'll see you on the nightshifts.
