When necking up the 270 Winchester cases extra effort was required, the 270 Winchester cases shorten as much as .030". The 270 cases started out .060" +/- longer than the 30/06 case. I would not assume the 270 cases can be put back together. I would suggest you measure before and again after. .060" difference in length should have gotten your attention.
And for those that do not have gages, the 270 case neck will slide in side of the 30/06 case neck. If the reloader plugs the primer pockets when pulling them apart a vacuum will be created.
