Last competition was in 2003. Also won a state championship (Tennessee) and was in a two-way shoot off for the Wimbledon Cup at Camp Perry (came in second), among countless other achievements... but...

...One of my best memories was at a regional competition, overhearing a gentleman crowing about how his wife would be so proud of him for finally breaking 190 aggregate out of 200 on the 300yd rapid fire stage. I almost always went clean on that stage, and had an internal pity-party if at least half my shots weren’t in the X-ring. This gentleman’s accomplishment however, was a profound reminder that it’s more about the endeavor than the outcome. If everyone who didn’t stand a chance of winning stayed home, the sport would die. I’m in awe of the comradery and valiant efforts that are most notable at the hand of the least skilled competitors amongst us. They are the finest warriors on the firing line.

Salute!
