I am just getting into reloading and I have all the tools and components I need but I have a few questions. I am reloading .40 cal.

1. I have decided on a cci small pistol primers, federal once fired brass already cleaned and I am looking for recommendation of powder. From what I have read aa#5 is highly recommended.

2. What is AA? Accurate? Alliant?

3.does anyone have any history with Rainer bullets?

4. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Accurate Arms

Rainer plated aren't designed for high velocity. Can't remember the recommended max.

AA historically has meant Accurate Arms as EddieNFL said. I believe since they were purchased by Western Powders, the "Arms" has been dropped from the name.

They are now known onyl as Accurate powders, but the abbreviation such as AA#5 or AA2230 persist among reloaders.

Fortunately, Accurate's names are sufficient different from other powders that there really is little chance to get them confused.

Most plated pistol bullets are limited to 1200 fps but there are exceptions. Check Rainer or their web site for specifics.
