I need a primer on running my own bullets

I tried this thread on the muzzleloader page and got little response. I've been casting pure lead balls since 1964 with no apparent problem. Just recently I started running maxie and minie balls for my 45,50, and 58 cal. muzzleloaders and because you don't use a patch with these rounds it soon became apparent that the rounds varied in diameter a lot. I've yet to mic these rounds to see just how much they vary.
I've started a search for bullet sizers for these cal. and as yet have come up with nothing.
 
BTW I read the thread on lead safety and I'm happy to say I've done most of what is suggested to avoid lead poisoning while casting and alas I'm one of the lucky few that have my shooting range in my backyard. So I don't have to go to an indoor range. I did once back in the late 60's and was politely asked to leave. The other shooters didn't like the smoke from my cap and ball pistol. I haven't shot indoors since.
