Hello everyone! As the title says I need some parts and I'm hoping someone here may be able to help. I rescued this beat up old H&R and I'm looking for the following:

1. the rotatable hinge-pin that connects the barrel assembly to the receiver assembly.
2. the hinge-pin lever that locks that pin into place(inside a detent on the left side of the receiver) with a 1/4 turn.
3. any screw or other piece that goes into the hinge-pin after it passes completely through the receiver.

I know the old 3/8" bolt and nut aren't correct because the receiver does have the indentation on the left side for the hinge-pin lever to fold down into.

4. a buttpad. Unfortunately I'm not versed enough in H&Rs to understand if I need a "large" or "small" buttpad as all on EBay and GunBroker are listed. The stock is very rounded on it's butt as if the original buttpad came off or was removed many years ago. I plan to cut about 1" off the stock and glue/screw a new piece of hardwood on. Once that's dry I'll shape the wood and put on the correct buttpad.
The stock also has a massive crack that is about to split it in half lengthwise. I'm going to strip the stock, then spread it apart with a reverse-clamp, then fill the crack with wood-glue and clamp it down tight. I'm hoping these actions will save the stock.

So those four(or three if there is nothing that goes on/in the right side of the hinge pin) are all I need. I'm working from a parts diagram from Gun Parts Incorporated which unfortunately doesn't actually show all the parts! I do know that the gun is functional otherwise, although the takedown lever behind the hammer is very worn and loose. I'm going to try to keep it though.

If I can get all that repair done I'm going to refinish the stock with linseed oil. I'm going to refinish the metal with a browning solution. I think this would better reflect the age of this old gun as opposed to stain/gloss finish and bluing the metal.

If I get all that done, I will need some help with cartridges. I've read quite a bit about this shotgun model being made for either 2 3/4" or 2 1/2" shells. Interestingly the serial number is prefixed by "A" on the receiver, which some online sources equate to a mid-century manufacture date. However most online sources all state that the Model 1900 was the only model with the 'breakdown' hinge-pin that rotated so as to seat into the indention in the receiver. My shotgun also uses a screw to affix the fore end to the barrel. Online sources say H&R stopped using that screw when they switched to the model 1905(?) and model 1908(?). Those sources also state that the model 1900 was not made after the early '20s. I just want to be sure before I stuff a 2 3/4" shell into the breech!

As with my .32 Winchester Special model 1894 I appreciate any advice and suggestions!

Rick
