Looks like a custom version of a Mikov in better steel and more interesting materials. I'd recommend spending the money on one of Mr. Marfione's more original pieces since I expect that it will hold value better. OTOH, if you want the ultimate version of a Mikov you won't find anything better than the piece from Mr. Marfione.

Ye gods!!!

Why in the bleepity-bleep-bleep-bleep would anybody ever pay better than sixteen hundred bucks for a bleepin' production knife??? Ever???

Sorry. Highest-falutin' steel in the world; solid gold springs; genuine mammoth tusk scales; blessed by the Pope Himself and autographed by Babe Ruth, Warren Spahn and Casey Stengel--Uh-uh. Sorry.

Why???

Mebbe I should put that bridge I own in Brooklyn, back on the market.

It's a nice knife.

I remember a beautiful, heavily jeweled folder by D. Hoskins. Not my style, but very well done for what it was. For about 60% more than this knife, it was one of the most expensive folders I noticed at the 2007 BLADE Show. But it did come accompanied by lots of pictures of country boys stabbing it through a truck door. :)

It is way to rich for me, but I know people that wouldn't blink an eye and pay the price if they wanted it.

JShirley, that knife sounded like one of the Graham Brothers knives (door stabbing) but the price does not come close.

I don't care if that guy hand delivers it to me and cooks me dinner while he is at it. I am not paying that much for a production knife made of high-end, yet still very commonly used materials.

I have no doubt that it is a nice knife, but c'mon... There is no way that knife is worth that price.

What does "direct access to the man himself even mean?" LOL.

I can think of other ways to blow money like on my car and useless **** i will never really need. This is cheaper only around 1200 i think and around 2000+ for the gold one. Best phone you will ever own in your life!

I'm not sure the Marfione is exactly a production knife since the Marfiones are supposed to be hand made. Of course, there's been a debate for a while about the meaning of "hand made" since so many makers have mills and other advanced machine shop equipment all the way up to prototypers.

Yep, and Tony supposedly grinds these himself, but I doubt the rest is done by hand like what we think of as custom.
