The free shipping promotion saved me $20, I was all over that.

For comparison, Midwayusa wants $214 + shipping for the same ammo.

SG is hit or miss. It took some effort on my part, but I have come out good in my dealings w/ them so far.

After I decline a couple of "renew now" offers, I load up on ammo and then accept the free shipping with renewal offer. The 4-pay option lets me spread the cost out interest free for a good portion of the time I'm using it. Good deal I've taken advantage of regularly.

I ordered 5 cases of ammo from SG about a week ago...2 cases of .223 and 3 cases of 762x39. Used my debit card from my personal checking account. I also used the coupon, got a free shipping offer for renewing my membership, etc...just like the OP.

I got a call from customer service the day after the order and was told that amount of ammo was considered to be a "commercial account amount" and they would not honor the shipping deal, coupons or 4-pay.

First time that's happened and it really mad me angry as I buy lots of stuff from them.

I told them it was a personal purchase and asked them to reconsider but no deal. I guess I won't be giving them any more of my money.

Ive received poor service FAR to often for the few dollars saved, no more Sportsmans for me.

I get my 7.62x39 from some of my C&R dealers and my .223 from Cabelas.

I found a great deal on ammo thru them thru another site.
I bought 2 cases of .45 and 1 case of 9mm and got the receipt etc. This was friday evening.
I get the notice that it has shipped monday or tuesday.
It shows up end of the week and the receipt is there
at about $60 more PER CASE

i call them up, "oh, we had a price increase before it shipped"
Don't care, my receipt clearly says what the price is.
They finally gave me back my money but it left a big time sour taste in my mouth. What a scam.

I've been lucky with them, no complaints with them yet. Just got a repro Trapdoor Sling and a 2fer on flashlights a few days ago.
