I have been looking for a new handgun recently, something in 9mm for mostly range use. For a good while I have been considering an HK P30L, a friend of mine bought one not long ago and I was very impressed with when he let me try it one day at the range. The problem with it was the price, everywhere I looked the price just seemed too high.

Well a few days ago I decided to check Gunbroker and low and behold I stumbled upon someone selling a P30L just an hour away from where I lived. The gun was like new in the box with three mags and his starting price was $700. I decided to place a bid and I was the only bidder and got the gun for $700! Best of all I was able to pick it up in person and my final cost was $700 cash, no transfer fees, no shipping charges! The guy I bought it form swore to me that he only put about 100 rounds through it since he purchased it and it really does look like it's seen very little use so I'm inclined to believe him but even if he put 1000 rounds through it the gun still looks brand new.

After picking it up from the guy I headed to the range and put 200 rounds through it. I couldn't have been more impressed with this gun it's probably the best shooting 9mm I have ever owned and I have owned quite a few fine 9mm's over the years. I've always believed that HK makes some of the finest handguns in the world but I think they really have a winner with the P30L. Looking back I would have paid full retail price for this gun if I had known how nice it is but I'm thrilled that I got such a good deal on it.

Anyway here are some pics as always:D

When I looked at them when they first came out, they were priced around $850. Nice gun but for being another hi-cap 9mm., not worth the premium at that price. So for $700, with 2 extra mags, no paperwork, and no other money out of your pocket, you got a LNIB pistol you've always wanted. Sounds like a great deal to me.

Aside from the P7, I have never been too thrilled with most other HK pistols. However, the P30 series has definitely impressed me to the point of jonesing for another HK.

As bad of a rap as they receive here on THR, they for the most part, are one heck of a pistol.

I do agree they are overpriced for the most part though. P7s are about the best good deal going in HK pistols for the last 15 years and still today.
