by now you've proabaly read "ruger hawkeye vs remington 700"and unless the ruger dosen't "fit"me worth a crap I'll get the ruger.I have two questions about the ruger: 1.does it have an adjustable trigger? and 2.ruger centerfire bolt-action owners what's the tightest group you have ever gotten out of your rifle?thanks

The Hawkeyes do not have adjustable triggers. But the newer ones made since they upgraded to the Hawkeye in 2006 have all been more than acceptable for a hunting rifle. Not match grade, but if you miss, don't blame the trigger. Older guns made prior to 2006 were very inconsistent. Many guns were excellent, others were bad.

While not truly adjustable, some guys replace the trigger spring with something lighter, and it is possible to polish surfaces to improve the pull a bit. You can find online instructions and you tube videos demonstrating how if you google "Ruger trigger adjustment" I've never felt a Hawkeye would need this. Some of the older guns, yes.

Not my best groups with a Ruger, but the best I have photos of. The top target is @ 100 yrds. The bottom target is while getting zeroed @ 200 with a 308.

I used to own a 280 that would shoot groups about 1/2 that size, but I've found this to be typical Ruger accuracy from the Hawkeyes.

I am also an AR deer hunter in the SW part of the state. Which 700 are you looking at?

My plain jane mark ii in .260 rem. will shoot .75 inch or less at a hundred. only mod was a trigger job
