It sure felt like it. This Osprey was up in a large oak near my house. He had a large mullet he was eating. I was able to snap a few picks before he turned his attention to me. They are pretty docile, but I was getting the look.

We took a picture of one hanging out at a local preserve, right next to a bunch of people on a bench. I was amazed that the bird stayed there. Your pictures are MUCH more impressive. Gorgeous!

I think the look just means "Stay away from my !@#$ fish, m!@#$%^&*()er!" Birds of prey take s--- from no-body.:D

Excellent pic & a most impressive raptor. I lost a pheasant to a Golden Eagle once & a cottontail to a Great Gray Owl . . . neither were inclined in the least to surrender that which they had claimed & I wasn't of the mind to argue.

Opening day of trout season here in Oregon a few years ago, I was fishing at a lake in the Cascades and had a nice stringer of trout. When out of nowhere here swoops in an Osprey and steals my stringer of fish!!! That bird had obviously figured out that there really is a free meal if you can sneak in while the fisherman isn't looking.

I guess I can't blame him, but I was a little miffed... now I had to catch all those fish all over again :D

Here are 2 shots that a "friend of friend" took . . . the guy gets some phenomenal photos . . .

Redtail . . .

and I believe a Goshawk . . .

Unless you're a rodent. lol . . . But, yeah . . . that guy spends countless hours with camera in-hand & must have the patience of Job. I've been fortunate to be on the receiving end of some glorious images.

Great Pictures! At my Grandad's property there is a red-tail nest in the woods near the field. Its pretty cool seeing them fly around and what-not. Especially when were shooting and they wear bullet-proof vest and Kevlar helmets :)

Great looking birds. There was a big redtail on campus the other day, I had to stop and admire. I realized we'd entered a staring contest and I wanted to keep the eyes I have, so I left.

Outstanding photos! I just took up photography after an early retirement from Golf as a hobby. I look forward to the opportunity to get some shots like these! I am also looking forward to getting some good photos of some deer on my lease this year.

We used to have kites nesting in a tree on the first tee box, they'd come down and take your hat off. A couple of guys had to get stitches.

I've seen a Swallow Tail Kite around the house here quite a few times, but have never seen him land. I live at the far edge of their range, so they aren't too common here.

I have a regular family of Hoot owls - sometimes see up to 6 or 7 of them in the trees around my yard.
