I am interested in duplicating this round with the same 1550 ft per second and greater with a 300 grain Keith Load. I would like to get responses from those guys that are well-adversed with these kinds of homemade moulded loads. I am new to casting my own bullets and would like to have something for large black bear and the above. I will be shooting both out of a Ruger Alaskan 454 2.5 inch, and a Smith & Wesson 460 V, in 5 inch. Mind you the 460 V has an increased twist in the barrel.
I would like to be able to get around 1,300 ft per second out of my Ruger with whatever load I am going to be making. Should I be sticking with 300 grain or go a little larger for these large animals? I would like these loads to be accurate and hard-hitting to about 50 yards maybe a little greater. (I would like to avaiid crimp jump.)

If you can also recommend good powder to use for these loads and good molds and gas checks that would also be appreciated. I would prefer not to have any letting in the barrel so I am not cleaning that thing a ton even if I want to use these at their range. I am excited to get started on this so I can enjoy these new firearms. I don't need any drunken campfire wisdom. I am looking strictly for well-educated and adversed individuals that know what they're talking about from lots of experience.
