Jeff, maybe if a THR member wins, they'll extend an invitation for you to come and join in them when they break it in. If I win, you're more than welcome to come down and play with it.

Frank

Jeff, if I win I will certainly let you have a go at it, but I am sure you have fired plenty of M16s in the past.
If I won it, it would probably never see the selector lever two clicks to the rear. But the suppressor would be a lot of fun.

Thanks guys, if either of you win I'll take you up on the offer. It's the suppressor that interests me. Here in the Peoples Democratic Republic of Illinois, Chairman Daley doesn't even allow the states enforcers to have suppressors..they are to evil for anyone except a manufacturer to have. Guess they aren't evil in the factory

Jeff

Heh, for $25 a chance to win that baby, I'd buy all the rest of the tickets. If I were twenty-one, and had the money. Oh, being a minor sucks.

Cool....

I am so there...

$25.00 x 600 = $15,000 so I suppose that even if a pre-'86 F/A AR lower goes for what $8000-10000? $5000-7000 is a tidy profit.

I can see why they can afford to pay $400 in NFA fees to the winner.

Good for them.

I think if the WCCA held a couple of gun-raffles, even just pedestrian Title I stuff, there'd be no funding problem at all.

And there goes another $25 and one more ticket. And yeah, if I win there will definitely be a THR gathering in the Nashville area where we all get to pump a few rounds through this baby.

I just had a wicked thought. I didn't even think about why the AR is the perfecgt NFA firearm until now. With a caliber addendum form to the ATF you could buy all sorts of uppers, .22lr, 9mm, 7.62x39 etc....

:D

And with it being a machinegun, it's exempt from the SBR and AOW regs right? So you could put a 10" bbl upper on it with no extra paperwork...

Oh so cool...

That's the idea, Andrew.

And if you look around enough, you can find belt-fed uppers ranging from the predicatble 5,56mm (Shrike, et all) to an MG34 style 8mm upper.

Of course, most of these uppers go for about 5K and up, so ...
