ID a shotgun on little info?

Hi All,

A friend tried out another guy's shotgun a few weeks ago and didn't know the name.

It's a 12-gauge, semi-auto, which uses a magazine (not tube fed). The guy who owned it apparently said something like "it's the one the army uses".

Any ideas of what model/manufacturer this might be?

The only common magazine fed auto shotgun I can think of is the Saiga, which is the AK design adapted to shotshells. I don't know whose army he was talking about. Not the USA.

Of course he might have had a SPAS 15 and been talking about the Italian army. Riiight.
